Throughout history, amber has often been used to heal and for other uses. It is said that when laid on the breast of a sleeping wife, it was believed she would confess her evil deeds.

Our Amber is simply a woman who remains in the shadows, taking comfort in the darkness. She is most often quiet in crowds, but garrulous among
friends. Her smiles are rare...but dazzling when they appear. She is very
much an observer, enjoying life through watching others experience it,
feeling trapped and unable to do so herself. She has much to give, however,
and does so when required, a mixture of shy innocence and tragic wisdom,
permeating all that she does.

She truly does love the stone, amber...her favorite stone since early
childhood and she finds it fascinating that her favorite "stone" is not a
stone, but petrified sap, often that has small insects trapped within (her
favorite pieces). Does this have any sort of significance? Could it mean she
identifies with those insects, meant to fly free, but hopelessly caught in a
sticky, slowly petrifying environment from which there is no escape? And the significance of this rock's association with fire and warmth, is that a
reflection of the fires that rage within her, passions kept under tight
control for fear she will burn out, or burn someone?
